Et pourquoi Ascandra est-il crucial pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cette pr\u00e9occupation environnementale croissante\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p><p>Le plastique est aujourd\u2019hui utilis\u00e9 dans nos industries, nos emballages, nos b\u00e2timents et m\u00eame nos v\u00eatements. En 2019,<a href=\"https:\/\/ourworldindata.org\/plastic-pollution#how-much-plastic-does-the-world-produce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> 460 millions de tonnes (Mt) de plastique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produites dans le monde.<\/a> La production mondiale cumul\u00e9e de plastique devrait atteindre 34 milliards de tonnes d\u2019ici 2050[1]. Les plastiques sont des polym\u00e8res organiques de haut poids mol\u00e9culaire, compos\u00e9s de divers atomes tels que le carbone, l&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne, l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne, l&rsquo;azote, le soufre et le chlore. La plupart des plastiques sont d\u00e9riv\u00e9s d&rsquo;hydrocarbures provenant du p\u00e9trole brut, du gaz naturel et du charbon. Le type de plastique le plus courant est le thermoplastique, fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de produits p\u00e9trochimiques, notamment l&rsquo;\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne et le propyl\u00e8ne. On les retrouve \u00e9galement dans les technologies de projection d&rsquo;air comprim\u00e9.<\/li><li>Les microplastiques secondaires, qui sont des particules r\u00e9sultant de la d\u00e9composition d&rsquo;objets en plastique plus volumineux, comme les bouteilles d&rsquo;eau. On pense que les microplastiques pourraient se d\u00e9grader davantage et devenir des nanoplastiques. Cependant, \u00e0 ce jour, le plus petit microplastique d\u00e9tect\u00e9 dans les oc\u00e9ans a un diam\u00e8tre de 1,6\u00a0microm\u00e8tre.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e6b5422 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e6b5422\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-37651ad\" data-id=\"37651ad\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-23538f6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"23538f6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>En Europe, o\u00f9 la plupart des m\u00e9nages sont raccord\u00e9s au r\u00e9seau d\u2019eaux us\u00e9es, en moyenne 25 grammes par personne sont rejet\u00e9s chaque ann\u00e9e dans l\u2019eau.[2] La poussi\u00e8re des villes, les pneus, les rev\u00eatements marins et les produits de consommation courante qui finissent dans l\u2019oc\u00e9an sont \u00e9galement des sources importantes de microplastiques.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7ea7798 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7ea7798\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Les gros d\u00e9bris de plastique sont soumis \u00e0 une exposition au soleil qui va progressivement les fragmenter en un nombre colossal de morceaux de diff\u00e9rentes tailles. De plus, le vent et les vagues exercent des contraintes m\u00e9caniques sur eux, tandis que l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne de l&rsquo;air exerce des contraintes chimiques par oxydation. L&rsquo;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 des plastiques repose sur leur poids mol\u00e9culaire important, ce qui signifie qu&rsquo;une d\u00e9gradation substantielle peut affaiblir le mat\u00e9riau et le fragiliser suffisamment pour qu&rsquo;il se brise. La fragmentation n&rsquo;est pas homog\u00e8ne : certains morceaux sont assez gros tandis que d&rsquo;autres sont tr\u00e8s petits. Selon la National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) des \u00c9tats-Unis, tout d\u00e9bris de plastique de moins de 5 mm de longueur peut \u00eatre class\u00e9 comme microplastique.[3] La plupart des microplastiques \u00e9chappent aux syst\u00e8mes traditionnels de filtration de l&rsquo;eau et finissent dans l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an et les lacs, o\u00f9 ils constituent une menace pour la vie aquatique.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-47a2d1b elementor-section-height-min-height elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-items-middle\" data-id=\"47a2d1b\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-0d39f05\" data-id=\"0d39f05\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e5de9d5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e5de9d5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">COMMENT ATTEIGNENT-ILS NOS OC\u00c9ANS ?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f7c83bf elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f7c83bf\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-a3aeca9\" data-id=\"a3aeca9\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8828583 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8828583\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Les taux de recyclage varient consid\u00e9rablement selon les pays et m\u00eame au sein des r\u00e9gions. Cependant, certaines estimations sugg\u00e8rent qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle mondiale, seulement 9 % du plastique est recycl\u00e9 chaque ann\u00e9e.[4] Les mati\u00e8res plastiques jet\u00e9es peuvent p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans l&rsquo;environnement marin sous forme de d\u00e9chets, de rejets industriels ou de d\u00e9tritus via les voies navigables int\u00e9rieures, les effluents d&rsquo;eaux us\u00e9es, le transport \u00e9olien et les d\u00e9chets non collect\u00e9s. Un petit pourcentage de d\u00e9chets plastiques est incin\u00e9r\u00e9, la majorit\u00e9 \u00e9tant mise en d\u00e9charge ou jet\u00e9e dans la nature.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e78daae elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e78daae\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-f665ed4\" data-id=\"f665ed4\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-feb5ae6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"feb5ae6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, selon une \u00e9tude de l&rsquo;Agence europ\u00e9enne pour l&rsquo;environnement, seuls 6 % environ des d\u00e9chets plastiques de l&rsquo;UE sont incin\u00e9r\u00e9s[5], tandis que 27 % finissent enfouis dans des d\u00e9charges[6] et qu&rsquo;une part importante d&rsquo;entre eux se retrouve dans l&rsquo;environnement, soit par le biais de d\u00e9tritus, soit par une mauvaise gestion des d\u00e9chets. De plus, selon une \u00e9tude des Nations Unies, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 80 % des d\u00e9chets marins sont du plastique[7].<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Dans une \u00e9tude de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9anographe n\u00e9o-z\u00e9landais Laurent Lebreton publi\u00e9e dans Nature en 2019, il est sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 que les fleuves les plus grands et les plus pollu\u00e9s sont les principaux responsables du transport de plastique vers les mers. On estime que ces quantit\u00e9s se situent entre 1,1 et 2,4 millions de tonnes chaque ann\u00e9e[8].<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-7247f6d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"7247f6d\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-05e8708\" data-id=\"05e8708\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a2a1ea0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a2a1ea0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, les scientifiques ont d\u00e9couvert des microplastiques \u00e0 des milliers d&rsquo;endroits. Comme la majeure partie du plastique finit dans l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an, de nombreuses petites particules se retrouvent coinc\u00e9es dans les tourbillons oc\u00e9aniques, cr\u00e9ant d&rsquo;\u00e9normes quantit\u00e9s de plastique flottant, comme le Grand vortex de d\u00e9chets du Pacifique, le plus grand au monde, mesurant 1,6 million de km\u00b2 et pesant 80\u00a0000 tonnes. Les microplastiques continueraient de s&rsquo;accumuler pendant des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations \u00e0 partir des d\u00e9chets d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9sents dans la mer. La fragmentation continue rend difficile pour les chercheurs de calculer pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment la quantit\u00e9 de microplastiques pr\u00e9sente dans l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an aujourd&rsquo;hui.
